Exploring the Information Landscape | Dangers of Face Value: looking beyond first impressions of fandoms
Fandom, aka fan culture, is a term applied to a participatory community built upon one thing: a tv show, movie, book, video game, sports team, etc. Today’s workshop will introduce the terms related to fandoms & pop culture. We will review how these communities are created and how they can impact us in everyday life while also critically thinking of our own biases.
