Information Landscape Workshops | Brain Germs and Bias: or, the internet fights dirty for our attention
Online information can be overwhelming, contradictory, and downright frustrating. In this workshop, we will explore how humans react to information overwhelm and what part emotions and bias play in information seeking, consumption, and sharing. Students will participate in activities to explore theories on how information spreads and why some types of information are more engaging than other types. Students will develop awareness of information seeking behaviors and vulnerabilities in order to improve their own information consumption.
