Generative-AI Capabilities and Ethics in Qualitative Research (Tech Talk)

This workshop will be held in the Data Hub (Library room 107) and live via Zoom.

On the surface, utilizing generative-AI in qualitative research might seem completely problematic. But there are ways that these features and tools can be used appropriately and ethically. In this workshop, we will discuss five ‘genres’ of generative-AI and their applications to qualitative research, highlight current integrations of generative-AI into computer-assisted qualitative data analysis tools and applications (CAQDAS), and explore ethical issues associated with and implications for using these tools.
