[Canceled!] Metrics – tools for measuring scholarship, productivity, and impact

Canceled! This workshop has been canceled at this time due to scheduling conflicts.

Measurements can be a useful tool in understanding any field or subject better. In research and publication, bibliometrics, scientometrics, informetrics (and their varieties) all deal with quantifying scholarship in order to better understand it. In this workshop, we will examine the tools available (both via subscription and free) to those at the University of Idaho in order to gather this data and use it. We will generally look at major indicators and some of their strengths and weaknesses, including the impact factor, h-index, and more.
