What does your data mean? Tools for understanding and making metadata for data

Data without context are not useful. As data sharing requirements become more common, it is essential that we give our data context whenever we share it with others. This workshop will introduce common types of metadata used for describing data with a focus on creating metadata (specifically, information that documents or explains the nature of a dataset) in numerous fields. We will look at tools for geospatial metadata, tools, for various types of scientific data, ways to document social data, and more.
