Introduction to Topic Modeling

Researchers use topic modeling to identify patterns, or “topics,” in large bodies of text. As a type of text mining used in Natural Language Processing, topic modeling can be especially useful for those who want to analyze a corpus too big to read (for an example see Mining the Dispatch) or for those who simply want to approach a body of text from a new perspective. This workshop will introduce the basics of topic modeling and engage participants with a hands-on topic modeling activity using jsLDA.
